CT Sled Hockey Participates in the Birdies for Charity Fundraiser at the Buick Championship through the Greater Hartford Jaycees

There were 1,571 birdies at the Buick Championship this year. Jamie Fedeli came in 2nd place with a guess of 1,572 and George Thomson came in 3rd with a guess of 1,574. They both won $500 gift certificates from Callaway!

Two of the the top three guesses for the number of birdies were employees of Filomeno and Company, P.C. that made charitable contributions to CT Sled Hockey

Thank you again for your support of CT Sled Hockey through the Birdies for Charity event!

I want to congratulate each of the players from the Connecticut Wolf Pack for their outstanding showing in the "OCSHIP Invitational Sledge Hockey Challenge" in Ottawa Canada May 5th, 6th and 7th. The Wolf Pack finished 1st in their division with wins of

1 to 0 over the Northern Sliders from Sudbury,Canada; 5 to 1 over the Ottawa Lasers and 5 to 0 over the Ice Breakers from North Bay, Canada. Connecticut lost to an excellent London Blizzards team from Ontario Canada in a closely played Championship game by a score of 3 to 2.

The three victories over ice hockey teams from Canada show how far our Connecticut sled hockey players and the Connecticut sled hockey program have developed and progressed in just three seasons. The goaltending and defense were magnificent throughout the tournament allowing only one goal in the three tournament games before giving up the three goals in the finals, after losing a key defenseman (Shaun Bucchere) to injury early in the first period. The offensive players also showed great improvement with 13 goals in 4 games and each of the players getting at least a goal or an assist.

The tournament sponsors have sent their congratulations to our team and expressed they were impressed with the level of play, enthusiasm and good sportsmanship displayed.

The coaches for CT Sled Hockey, Pat Carney, Liz Debassio and Sean Carney have beguan the development of what can become a impressive sled hockey program.

The Connecticut players proudly represent all of the state of Connecticut. I would like to recognize the achievements of each of our players:

Karen Smith, Shaun Bucchere, Bobby Jenner, Kelly Hutchings, Kelly Loth, Josh Buglione, Anthony Kuntz, Colleen Rock, Jeff Lavoie, Tyler Konvent, Andrew Cournoyer, Ryan Pelletier, Marty Kenniston
